Shock it up : G-shock in Movies

It was 1994 I believe when I happened to be a little boy that I had gone to the movies to watch a movied called ‘Speed’.  Starring in it was a slightly unknown pre-matrix Keanu Reeves and a young Sandra Bullock. True to its name, it was a  complete action thriller with moments of complete surprise and adrenaline pumping action throughout. That was when during the action sequences I  caught a glimpse of Keanu sporting a G-shock and hence, started my obsession which has not found its way out of my head until now.
The G-Shock line of watches from Casio signify extreme toughness and can withstand harsh weather conditions, hence in popular culture are mostly associated with outdoor sports. But lately, it has become more than just that. Through various production campaigns and celebs sporting the G-Shocks, its has more and more become a style statement.
Perhaps the  one most important factor in the phenomenal rise of the G-Shock line is due to its appearance in Hollywood movies- Usually tertosterone pumped action flicks where the Protagonist sports the G-Shock. The audience automatically associates the toughness of the watch with the toughness of the character. A testosterone pumped Character using a testosterone pumped watch. G-shock can be found here.  Lets take a look at some of the prominent appearances of the G-Shock line in Movies-
