Nepal is a country not only known for its mysticism, but also for its adrenaline pumping outdoor sports. The list includes bungy jumping, rafting, para gliding, canoeing, trekking, etc. It can be a total paradise for the adrenaline junkies looking for a rush..or..if you’re just bored living the life of a medical student. (okay, that would be me )
| The view of the Valley from the Bridge |
BUNGY : Bungy Jumping in Nepal is hosted by The Last Resort
( you can find them here ). It is the 7th highest bungy jumping platform in
the world at 525 feet where the person
jumps directly over the Bhote Kosi – One of the wildest rivers in Nepal. It is
a scenic view (before the jump ofcourse) as the jumping platform located on a
bridge overlooks a valley straight ahead. Once the person leaps, his mind which
was once scared of the jump, goes numb. He
hears nothing but the wind in his ears and the feeling of no ground
beneath his feet, nothing quite like it. Tourists from all over the world land
up here for the 5-6 odd seconds of feeling
gravity at its most extreme before the bungy rope kicks in. An experience I
have and will always chrish.

| Rafting on the Trishuli |
Rafting : Rafting in Nepal
is carried out in many rivers – Trishuli and the bhote kosi being the
most common. Trishuli is a little kinder to the rafters than the Bhote Kosi, the
latter which is usually tackled by the
pros. The extreme turbulent rapids, especially during the monsoons,
makes it an experience like no other. In
between the rapids are calm stretches of the river where the rafters can jump
off the raft and take a dip. A Sort of a calm before a storm that lies ahead in
the form a massive rapid, just waiting for the rafters to make a mistake,so
that it can throw them off the raft and claim them.

If I went on writing about the recreational outdoor sports
in Nepal, i would probably never be able to finish. There are tons of other
activities such as canoeing, various trails to hike on, rock climbing, etc. One
can never get enough of what Nepal has to offer.
To truly experience mysticism, beauty and pure adrenaline activities, one
must experience Nepal, As most people who do, never come out disappointed and
usually end up re-visiting!
